Each year, about 8 new families are diagnosed with PKU in the Intermountain Region. Receiving the diagnosis can be very emotional and overwhelming. One of IPAD’s main focuses is to help newly diagnosed family members learn about the resources that are offered locally for their support. We hope that those dealing with this disorder never feel like they are alone, but they have a community of people to help them succeed.
The National PKU Alliance has put together some information to provide useful information to newly diagnosed families.
